About Me

After recent job interviews (OK, just the one) where the interviewers wanted to know if there was anywhere they could view my work online, I decided it was time I made up a site, just to show I know what I'm doing.

With that in mind, you can expect this site to change a lot, but not with content, simply with making it more elegant code-wise (at the time of writing, it's a bit of a hack to say the least). I thought the best way to do this would be to get the content up, then worry about frills like learning PHP!

So to show off my abilities/highlight my ineptness, I put together the Music DB, a database of all the music I own (excluding copied tapes and minidiscs, of which there are a few, not to mention mp3s I somehow came across), and all the concerts I've been to. While this may seem like it was a mass undertaking, I've had the CD collection DB in one form or another for a few years now, and have finally found a (useless) use for it.

Not long after starting this site, I was also coerced into starting a blog, where I would put mini-rants and go-nowhere spiels like this.

For those of you who have wandered here from out of nowhere, I'm Steven Morrison. I've just finished a degree in Computing Science at Glasgow Uni, and am about to do a Masters in E-Commerce at Aberdeen Uni. You can look to the blog for a better idea of what I like and what I am like (two different and equally important points, despite what Nick Hornby might say).
